On Saturday November 26th, you’ll finally get your chance to see the new short film from Christopher Phelps and Ursidae Parade, Hanging From Infinity. The film will premiere at Aimie’s Dinner & Movie in downtown Glens Falls to what will most certainly be a sold out theater. Luckily you’ll have two chances to see it that night; first at 8pm, then again at 10pm. Following the film there will be an open Q&A with the filmmakers and actors. It’s only $5 at the door, and all proceeds from the evening will go straight into the continued promotion and distribution of the film. Also that night at 42° Art & Glass Gallery, Justin Paszul will have his artwork on display for their Holiday Party and glass blowing demonstration. All in all it will be a night worth experiencing. So come on out, enjoy the food and drink courtesy of Aimie’s, support local independent art, and enjoy the film!

Since last July Christopher Phelps and crew have been hard at work producing a new short film entitled Hanging From Infinity. The film follows a man (played by Lucas William Hale Van Scoy) as he travels through a surreal landscape of mysterious dreams and distant memories surrounding a girl (played by Laura Hajek). Written and directed by Christopher Phelps, production started about a year ago and over that time the story has grown organically to suit time and budgetary limitations. Despite being funded entirely out of pocket, the film features an impressive production value and a number of complicated setpieces. The film is being produced by the newly organized production company Ursidae Parade, and will be their first official release under the name. The majority of the movie has been shot and edited, and production is slated to wrap up within the next month. On Friday, June 3rd the fifth annual “Bushwick Open Studios” will kick off at over 350 locations across Brooklyn. Hundreds of artists will display work in almost every conceivable art form. One of these locations dubbed “The Jeffersonian” will feature a show called “Whatever Takes Shape”, a collection of interactive sculptures, projections, paintings, music and video, as well as dancers and performing artists. Work will be on display on all four floors of the building, culminating  with the main event on the rooftop, which features an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline. Many members of The Ravacon Collective will have work on display including Ryan Scott Fitzgerald, Jonathan Phelps, Rose Sambrato,  Stephen Phelps, Justin Paszul, Joel Barlow, Christopher Phelps,  and Laura Hajek. The show will also feature a live performance by William Hale with full band on the roof.
